Since graduating from college as a jazz piano performance artist, Julie Hall has garnered accolades for her newly released album In the Blue. The award winning artist, known for her upbeat style has combined her piano, vocal, and composing talents to produce an album that delivers a unique jazzy pop sound. Working with a shoe-string budget and a little help from her friends, Julie’s debut album showcases her smooth voice and rich orchestrations on the ten original tunes in the album.
Julie, a classically trained pianist, attended Cab Calloway School of the Arts (Delaware), West Chester University (Pennsylvania), and New York Voices summer camp (Ohio). She has performed at locations including the Kennedy Center, the Grand Opera House (Wilmington, Delaware), Hershey Park (Pennsylvania), and many other music venues. She has also studied voice and worked with notable musicians Helen Sung, Rufus Reid, Donny McCaslin, Uri Caine, Antonio Sanchez, Kim Nazarian, New York Voices, Fred Hersch, David Sanchez, Michele Weir, Bobby Shew, Gretchen Parlato, Becca Stevens, Rebecca Martin, Paul Jost, Snarky Puppy, Julian Lage, and Sean Jones.
